Academia Homerica
Academia Homerica is an international summer school dedicated to the study of Homer’s epic poems and their lasting influence on European culture. Held in Greece – in Athens and on the island of Chios, traditionally associated with Homer – the programme combines high-level academic lectures with immersive cultural experiences.
Participants attend classes and lectures led by distinguished professors and scholars while exploring significant archaeological sites, museums, and historical locations connected to the ancient world. The programme offers dedicated tracks for students, scholars and Hellenists, as well as an intensive Modern Greek language course. Educational visits and shared activities create a unique opportunity for intellectual exchange across generations and countries.
By bringing together learners and experts from across Europe and beyond, Academia Homerica fosters a deeper understanding of Homer’s works within their historical, cultural, and contemporary context — making the classics a lived and shared experience.

Academia Latina
Academia Latina is Euroclassica’s summer school dedicated to Latin language, literature, and Roman culture. Held in Rome, the heart of the ancient world, the programme combines academic study with direct engagement with classical heritage.
Participants explore Latin authors, Roman history, and art through guided lessons led by experienced tutors from across Europe. These academic sessions are complemented by instructional visits to museums and archaeological sites in and around Rome, allowing students to encounter the ancient world in its original setting.
Bringing together young learners from different European countries, Academia Latina promotes the shared European dimension of Classics and fosters intercultural exchange through a common engagement with Latin language and culture.
Academia Ragusina
Academia Ragusina is Euroclassica’s international symposium held in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Conceived as a biennial academy, it brings together students, teachers, and researchers to explore classical and post-classical texts in Latin and Greek, with particular emphasis on the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
Combining scholarly lectures with pedagogical workshops, the programme creates a dialogue between academic research and classroom practice. Participants engage with ancient and early modern authors in their historical context while reflecting on their continued relevance for contemporary society. Recent editions have explored themes such as natural science, environmental awareness, and the intellectual legacy of figures like Pliny the Elder, Oppian, and Marinus Ghetaldus.
Set in the culturally rich city of Dubrovnik — with its libraries, manuscript collections, and Greco-Roman heritage — Academia Ragusina offers an inspiring environment for interdisciplinary exchange. Through lectures, text-based workshops, and excursions to historical sites, the academy fosters international collaboration and highlights the enduring importance of classical languages in European cultural history.
